• From time to time, you may see some popup and dialog windows shown by running application which may steal focus and cause problems to normal script execution or wait for the reaction from a user.

• When testing an application under a debugger, for example under Microsoft Visual Studio, the debugger may show “Debug Assertion Failed“ dialog windows. Such dialogs have 3 buttons: Retry, Ignore and Abort. Depending on the situation, you may wish to press either Ignore or Retry. I.e., when you just need to continue your application execution you press the Ignore, but when you need to step into code, you press Retry.

• In some cases, it is necessary to analyze the information shown in the displayed dialog and make a decision to press a specific button.

• Thus, you need to watch your testing machine to make such decisions, since, unfortunately, TestComplete cannot do this in all cases especially when you need to make the decision how to react to debugger dialogs, since in this case, TestComplete is frozen as well as the tested application.
